The word Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel, or vortex, and it refers to each of our seven Spiritual energy centers. Our chakras function like pumps and valves, regulating the flow of energy through our energy system. We open and close these valves by the thoughts we think, what we feel, and through our perception filters. The chakras interact with the physical body through the endocrine system and the nervous system. They are denser then the aura, but aren’t as dense as the physical body.
Each of our seven chakras are associated with one of the seven endocrine glands, and also with a group of nerves called plexuses.
The endocrine system is one of the body’s primary structures for communicating, controlling and coordinating the body’s functioning. This vital system works in alignment with the nervous system, immune system, reproductive system and the kidneys, gut, liver, pancreas and fatty tissues to help maintain and control the following:
• Body energy levels
• Growth and development
• Internal balance of body systems, called homeostasis
Responses to surroundings, stress and injury (known as the fight/flight response)
Each chakra is not only associated with a particular part of the body and function within the body, but also reflect different aspects of consciousness.
Health problems caused by Chakra Imbalances affect the Endocrine Glands cause illness.
The root chakra identifies with our connection to source (God) as well as Mother and Mother Earth. At the top of the kidneys are the adrenal’s that produce several hormones including adrenaline, which stimulates the “fight r flight” response and ties directly to the base chakra’s survival drive.
